Dyan Robinson

Artistic Director at StudioONE Dance Center

Dyan is so excited to be living out her long time dream of owning and operating a dance studio. Her love of dance began at a young age and she grew up in a home where dance was embraced. Her mother Linda, was a competitive ballroom dancer for many years and her father, Clem, spent countless hours cheering her on during various dance performances. Her parents along with her sister and brother continue to support her love of dance. It is from this strong family base that Dyan feels she can bring quality dance education along with compassion, respect and understanding to her students at StudioONE Dance Center.

Dyan’s training includes ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and musical theater. In addition to studying locally she trains in New York City at the Broadway Dance Center. She has performed in various local dance productions and has appeared on the Shubert stage in New Haven. She was also a featured performer aboard The Costa Riviera Cruise Ship and was part of a traveling company which performed throughout New England. Dyan began teaching dance when she was seventeen and has experience with students of all ages and dance levels. She believes that by encouragement and providing her students with positive feedback they can gain confidence, self esteem and essential skills that they can use not only in dance but in life as well. Along with her love for dance, Dyan is an Instructor of Communications at Southern Connecticut State University and has a Master’s degree in Psychology. She is married to her wonderful husband, Andy, and they have two amazing children, Andrew Jr. and Samantha.
